"Being Intentional" in Michigan

Hello,

My name is Travis, and although I have been a member of the site for around 4(!) years this is my first post. I recently started listening to the BiggerPockets Podcast, and just finished episode #66 with guest Michael Blank. What an inspirational show!

Even though I am fairly educated in the real estate world: undergrad focused in real estate, and time spent working on the commercial side, I have never done a deal myself. I have been saying to myself that I was not ready, that the timing just was not right, I realized after listening to the show that I was just comfortable. Comfortable with my house, life, and career. I want to be uncomfortable, and this is my first step.

My plan has two possible paths that I am currently deciding upon. I am either taking a lucrative job that has nothing to do with real estate, and has me traveling all the time. Or becoming an apartment property manager in the Bay City, MI area. The trade off is money vs. experience and my desired investment area. Big decisions for me, but both paths lead to real estate.

Thanks for allowing me a long winded introduction, the first step into my own portfolio, and for taking the time to read about me. If you would like to know more just ask!

Thanks for your time,

Travis
