Newbie in the DFW area

Hello out there,

My name is Anaso and I have recently discovered BP. I have been interested in Real Estate for a while ever since reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad but I've never been exposed to the type of content that BP provides. I'm new to DFW area and I'm looking at making a purchase in the Arlington and Fort Worth area next year in 2019, around October . I was just wondering if it would be wise to invest in a rental property while me and my family stay in a rental as well or should my first acquisition be a house of my own so that I can learn how to manage a property? And is there a way to know which neighborhoods are good to invest in or would that come from driving around and knowing the area ? I just moved here in July.

Thank you guys,

Anaso Jobodwana
