Hello all. Newbie here looking to get started within the next year. I have a degree in real estate, but I also have a degree in finance, and work in that area. I am looking to buy a 4 family rowhouse, and finance it through FHA 203k. I am looking to purchase a older out of date building, and retrofit it, in a modern manor, very cheaply (think pergo floors, ikea cabinets, etc.) in order to raise rents. I will also be an occupant of the complex. I would like to hold long term, but not be an owner-occupant in 2 years. Hopefully, by then I would buy my first larger complex 10+ units, and be an occupant of that. Ok, that is my story.
