New Investor - Portland, Oregon area

Hello everyone!

I am new to Real Estate Investing and Biggerpockets. Recently decided to seriously pursue my interest in Real Estate and have spent the last few weeks learning everything I can on the subjects - Books, YouTube videos, Podcasts, etc. Spent the last couple of weeks starting to talk to different lenders and lender types, as well as talking to a few agents. I have been trying to do a bit of networking here and there, too. My goal is to own rental properties (multifamily and single family), but definitely need to start creatively to get to my goal.

Anyway, I am simply introducing myself to the site and hope to do a bit more networking on here as well.

What types of investing are you doing in the area?

For the experienced investors out there, what is the best piece of advice you would give to a 'newbie'?

Welcome, Kyle.  Glad to have you here.  Keep doing the things you're doing and you'll be surprised how things start to happen around you.  I've found that even being pre-approved for fix n flip financing has been enough of a conversation starter to get me hooked up with some experienced investors and it feels like I'll be working on my first real project soon.  Couldn't have done it without all of the resources here at BP.

For now though, i own two rentals in Portland. I acquired them each as owner occupied homes and then converted them to rentals.
