Is anyone on this forum familiar with the San Antonio real estate market? I"m trying to find out what are some area that are good for 401k investment. Either for flipping, or buy and hold for rental.

The part of town is somewhat important, but more important is that you are buying from someone who NEEDS to get out of their house. THAT is when you will have a deal on your hands. Most people are NOT going to sell their property to you at 30% off of retail. When you have someone who is behind on payments, taxes or inherited a property, they will.

Market to find the people who fit into those categories and you will find 30% or more off type of properties. They are NOT going to be on the MLS.
