23 y.o. guy, new to the site and interested in rental properties

I'm 23, graduating from college a little late after serving in the Army. My wife's online retail store has taken off, bringing in roughly 70k a year. I'm looking to begin a career this summer in sales with my brother-in-law's company - I should be bringing in 30k.

My idea is this. We're currently content living on her income (she only works 25 - 30 hrs/week) and I'm interested in using my income to solely focus on investing in rental properties. We live in the Detroit Metro and housing prices are very reasonable in safe areas.

The community here at biggerpockets looks great! Really looking forward to tapping into the wealth of information here. Thanks for having me!

Welcome to BP.

Sounds like yo have a good plan. There is plenty to learn but you've found a great place to learn it.

Your Profile says Baldwinsville, New York, yet the post says metro Detroit. My partner invests in Detroit. If you are planning to do it long distance I don't recommend it.
