New College Investor

Hey y'all my name is Jay Walton and I'm from Northern VA, the Fairfax County area. I'm a junior in college and beginning the process of investing in real estate. After reading a ton of bigger pockets books and being a follower on here (albeit not registered), I'm ready to start this journey. My personal goal is to acquire my first rental property in the next 12 months, by August 17, 2021. As a college student, I'm wanting to focus in on college student rental properties; not for my friends but in markets around Virginia, DC and Maryland where properties are still not priced out of reach for a new investor. My background is in landscaping, having started and grown 2 companies: full service landscaping along with a mulch/firewood supply company; so the entrepreneurial lifestyle is not new!

I'm super excited to begin this journey and looking forward to learning from folks on here.
