Hi everyone!
I recently found BP and have been spending time reading through old threads and listening to the Newbie podcast. So much to learn and super thankful for the wealth of info out there! I moved to Akron a few months ago for grad school and am thinking of house hacking (first property), because why not? Inclination is to buy and hold, although I don't know what I'd do in a few years when I eventually move.
I'm looking at the nicer/more popular areas away from downtown, feeling nervous and hope to find the right deal! Would love to learn from and connect with others investing in Akron-- Anything you would change if you could redo it? General experience/insight on the current rental market? What you would look out for? Recs for GC/realtors? Should I be expanding my search toward Cleveland?
Best,
Ryan

Welcome! Great community here, if I were single and starting fresh, I'd start with a 4 unit, and do Brandon's 4/3/2/1 strategy. Cost is going to hold you back in the suburbs, but it's hard to go wrong if you follow half of whats posted here.
