USN Veteran Real Estate Noob

Good day!

I was looking to link up with some real estate savvy individuals and came across bigger pockets. What a blessing it is to have such an amazing community full of individuals seeking to get to a similar goal! I currently own one property in California and have seen my home value rise significantly during the past year and could really use some solid guidance/advice on how to move forward with a possible refinance, opening a heloc, or even the possibility of selling the property may be on the table!

Mainly looking to just get the conversation started on how I can utilize what I have at my disposal in the most efficient and beneficial way possible! Looking forward to reading some advice, thank you all!

@Elvy Harris Welcome to BP! Do your best to find some lenders that are VA saavy to make sure you are uncovering all the potential benefits that are open to you. Definitely a good idea to keep your money working for you by doing a cash-out refi to plug into another property either as a househacking primary residence or as an investment property. If you're just getting started making sure you listen to as many of the podcast as you can and read @Brandon Turner's guide to real estate investing to get all of the basics down. Once you find that right deal that works for you make sure you take action. I've used the VA loan twice to jumpstart my journey to financial freedom, and things are cruising now!
