Markham or Hillsdale - dealing with the Village

Anyone from the Chicagoland area - do you have experience buying in either Markham or Hillsdale? The last 2 properties I bought were in Dolton and University Park and being from Michigan, for buying a property, the experience of dealing with the village was very new to me. So this time before I make a purchase I def want to find out how its been for others.  Are they very strict on their inspection? Do they seem to just want to make money and not give a crap? Are they easy to deal with? Any feedback would be appreciated.
