Investors & Realtors: How Has the Relationship Helped or Hurt Your Deals?

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

I recently read a post about what important questions to ask a realtor when looking into a new area and that got me thinking. I’m curious to hear from both investors and realtors about your experiences working together.

If you’re an investor, do you actively work with realtors when buying or selling properties?

  • What’s been your best experience with a realtor?
  • What’s been your worst experience?
  • Do you find realtors bring you more deals, save you time, and add value — or do you prefer to source everything off-market?

If you’re a realtor, what’s been your experience working with investors?

  • What makes an investor a great client?
  • What challenges do you run into?
  • How do you find the right balance between investor needs and market realities?

Both sides can chime in and maybe even answer each other’s questions. So we can all learn how to make the investor–realtor relationship more productive (or decide when to skip it entirely).

Looking forward to hearing your stories, lessons, and advice.
