Utah: "non-disclosure" state. Good for owners, bad for Zillow

Zillow is a great "first pass" data tool, but it is negatively impacted by Utah's status as a non-disclosure state. 

On the other hand, property owners benefit greatly by keeping sales data out of the hands of the taxation powers.

    By Zillow's own assessment, they admit that their data is coming exclusively from assessed values:

    This changed from about a year ago when they gave themselves 0 stars because of the lack of data.  Now they've given up and just use the county assessor.

    We could have a whole new discussion about assessor methodology and why that's very problematic as well.
