New to Huntsville, New to Investing.
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself to those of you on this HSV forum. I have yet to invest in any properties, but I have been studying the topic for almost two years now. My first order of business is hopefully to purchase a home with some renovation potential. I understand from my research that properties like that are scarce in the HSV area. I have my cash/liquid assets situation figured out, and I know my next step is to secure financing. Look forward to interacting with everyone!
For the future, I'd be very happy if anyone would be willing to share recommendations for any contacts they have in Huntsville. I'll need a good realtor. Any good property managers, contractors, etc would be greatly apprectiated! Any advice about the HSV market would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!
A little background on myself: I'm from a tiny town in Nebraska, and my work in construction project management has brought me to Huntsville for the next 2-3 years. I've lived in Huntsville for about 6 months now. I have lots of experience in doing construction work from before I was in a supervisory position, and I hope to put my experience to work by self performing some of my renovations.

My recommendations:
1. Network with local wholesalers and consider attending the local REIA meetings to meet local investors.
2. Network some more. There are several real estate agents on BP who are investor friendly in the Huntsville market.
3. Try to get your finances in order to buy all-cash; finance offers are losing out to lower amount cash offers routinely in this market presently.
4. Network some more.
5. Don't worry about property management until you actually have a property under contract. There are several good ones in town, and they will be much more interested in talking to you when you have a property.
6. Did I mention networking?
Good luck!
