Slick Seattle Entrepreneurs Reveal How to Landlord Without RE

Just revealed today, Thursday June 13th, courtesy of the Seattle Times, NW Thursday Section; Landlord’s don’t need their own land -just use the City Streets to “Car Ranch”.

“More than 2000 people in King County live in vehicles”, including dilapidated RVs. According to the city, there are local landlords who buy vehicles cheaply at auction after the city has towed illegally parked or derelict vehicles off its streets (old RV’s often have no other bidders). The purchaser then rents the vehicle to a person who would otherwise be homeless (and who parks it right back on the street).

“The city is aware of ‘several’ car ranchers who own 10 to 12 vehicles each, said a city spokesperson.” … “Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkans is taking aim at those RV’s and vehicles, specifically (the) practice known as car ranching.”
