FHA Loan Before Moving In

Ryan Barrow
Posted

I am planning on moving to Baltimore around February and would like to implement a house-hacking strategy, likely using a FHA loan. I will be living with my parents until then. I figure if I could get a property now and rent it out until I move in it would be a great opportunity for additional cash flow. I wasn't sure how the primary residence requirement for an FHA loan would affect this.

I am also very new to real estate and have just been researching/reading as much as possible until I purchase my first property so any and all advice is welcome!

Thank you @Jaysen Medhurst. I haven't really considered conventional loans as everyone references FHA loans when mentioning house hacking. I'll definitely look more into them and run the numbers.
