House with a lot of land - how to make money off the land?

Hi all,

New to the website \ forums but have been lurking on Youtube for a while :)

I'm in the final stages of closing a deal on our first house - a little over an acre with two single family houses - one to live, one to rent.

This property is rare in our area (New Jersey) and it has a lot of vacant land (basically a huge back yard with grass).

This will be our first house and I would like to hear some ideas of what to do with all that land (except letting the kid run around), is there a way to generate additional income (I know for sure that I can not built any more livable buildings on the land).

Would appreciate any idea!
