Self Directed IRA retirement question

I currently have a home that I purchased outwrite using my self directed IRA. The home is currently owned by my IRA LLC. Once I turn 59.5, can I transfer the house deed into my name directly since I'd be retirement age? Thank you!

Robin,

What you are referring to is known as in-kind distribution. Yes, this can be done. You would have to do it in two steps:

1) Move title from LLC to the custodian

2) Distribute property out of an IRA and move the title from custodian to yourself

Please note that this will be taxable event so be sure to consult with your CPA regarding tax implications.
