Recommendations on CO Real Estate School?

Hi BP,

I've finally decided to go after my RE license and I've been researching local schools in the Denver(SE Aurora) area to attend. But I can't tell one from the other from just visiting their websites. Apparently they all have the highest pass rating in the state.

I was hoping some you local agents could possibly offer any recommendations, suggestions or advice.

I'm not certain how they're handling things with COVID right now, but I feel that online classes may not yield the same results as a live classroom setting. But maybe I'm not giving them the credit they deserve.

Thanks in advance!

Brandon

You have a great question Brandon. It would be great to get feedback from local agents in this.

Many have to deal with online learning, even if in person might be better, unfortunately. Are you looking for schools in Denver or SE Aurora?

Thank you for the reply Ben.  Preferably something around SE Aurora(Aurora, Cent, DTC).  It's not a huge deal either way though.  Would rather not have to drive all of the way out to Arvada or Wheatridge ya know?

Thanks!

I know there are a ton of agents on BP, hopefully, they get back to you. A friend of mine took his test just a few years ago. I will see if I can get some feedback from him.

Hey @Brandon Canady ! Happy to hear you taking the plunge into getting your License. I am not sure how things are going with classes during COVID, but I will say that pretty much everyone I know who has gotten their license got them through an online school. In all honesty, the classes are mostly to get things going and get your license, you will learn more in your first couple of months as a broker than you did during the classes.

I would recommend focusing more on finding a team, or a current broker that you can latch onto and have as a resource while you go through the classes, or even better Shadow and talk to about the actual nuances of being a broker. The classes are great to get you through the test, but it truly won't replace experience and learning from others.

The other benefit of online classes is that you can make it however fast or slow you want, so I've known agents that did it in a month, and I've known people who never finish it (haha). So while it might be nice to be in person and be forced to participate and have your focus captured, you might find it slows down your progress to take the test.

But those are just a few quick thoughts! As for your actual question, I went through VanEd as they had a sale going on, and I found they provided a bit more resources than the others.

Hey Brandon! I recently got my license after taking courses through The CE Shop with their "Standard" program. I was pretty happy with the online program, it's pretty easy to digest all the information and there are a lot of small quizzes along the way. Definitely helped with feeling confident going into the exam. I'll send you a message with some more info.

It looks like you received some good advance, My friend did get back to me, here is the abbv ver:

Did online @ https://creschool.com/

I liked that it was at my own pace, and all online. The content is helpful to pass the test...

If you want the full version, DM me.. Truly in short it falls in line with what @Ben Rhodin advised.

I appreciate you going out of your way to check on that Ben!

Hi Brandon,

I agree with @Ben Rhodin ’s assessment that while there is some good knowledge to be learned in the licensing coursework, the most important learning takes place on the job. I used Colorado Real Estate School’s online course, and it adequately prepared me for the test, but I’ve yet to find a Colorado agent who has raved about their chosen school. Good luck and congratulations on your decision to get started!
