Undocumented- CPD High school district proof

Posted

CPS, NOT CPD! I CANNOT EDIT THE TITLE, SORRY!

Hi Chicago landlord team,

A tenant just messaged me that the high school he wants to apply his son to is asking for district proof and requiring two forms of proof (water, electricity, or gas) with his name on it. They are all under my name as I am paying for all of these and he is asking me to add him to the bill.

The answer will be no because of liability and legality reasons and I pay for all three units....he's only in one of those three but has anyone been in this situation with Chicago schools CPS? Is there a suggested response I can send him? Looking for advice here.

@Afrothiti Manolis - below is the link from CPS that lists the accepted forms for proof of ownership (need two forms) that you can share with them.

https://policy.cps.edu/downloa...

Proof of current address includes, but is not limited to, any two of the following documents:
a. Current utility bills;
b. Illinois driver’s license or State of Illinois identification card;
c. Deed;
d. Employer identification card;
e. MediPlan/Medicaid Card;
f. Voter registration card;
g. Court documents;
h. Illinois Department of Public Aid card;
i. Stamped United States Post Office change of address form;
j. Illinois state aid check/social security check; and
k. Other identification card issued by a federal or state agency or foreign
government consulate, such as a Matricula Consular.

Parent's DL or ID will be good for one and then they can do a change of address form or register to vote for the 2nd. Throw out the option that you will put ComEd in their name for them to pay. They won't want to pay so they'll take the 2 hours to get one of the other forms.
