Newbie with cash considering flipping in DFW

I am researching how to make my first deal in real estate. I have a decent amount of cash. I have been advised not say how much in the forum. One possible goal that I am considering is to make "real estate investing" a job. So, I need to offset my current income. This has drawn me towards flipping houses or small multi-family properties. I live in the DFW area and want to stay local. My casual observation of the market, at least on my side of town, is that it's really a seller's market at the moment and good deals for flipping are hard to come by. Setting aside my lack of experience in flipping anything: is the current DFW market conducive to flipping? Hoping to hear from some people actually in the market.

Thanks,

Matt
