I'm looking at a house with a ratty swimming pool in back (about 10x20) and wantto vet my offer in quickly so I don't want to wait for any bids. At the same time I've never done this before. Anyone know what it normally costs to fill in a swimming pool? Thank you

The rehabber just texted me back and said they would get it done for under $2K.  It's small probably 12 x 25.  They have their own crew and they probably know some place to get cheap fill.  And I doubt they are following any special requirements or getting any permits.  Like I said they are cheap.
