Liability with rehabbing

Hi - I'm about to purchase my first unit for rehab. It needs basic interior exterior rehabbing. I am going in with my parents who will managed the rehabbing aspects. They are good at painting and I expect them to be able to perform some of that duty to help save money. However, I wonder what some of you folks do to make sure you're protected from liability for anyone "hired" to help work on a rehab unit. For example, I really don't think we need to pay a professional painting company to pull wallpaper off the wall, so maybe if my parents found a friend or college student that wanted to make a few bucks doing it, what do I need to think about to employ someone like that? Or is it just not worth the hassle? I live out of town from the place but I expect to get my hands dirty just after close and get working on the property for a weekend.  Appreciate your inputs.
