Flipping in Kansas City, MO??

Hi. I've been approached by a fellow investor to look into flipping houses in and around Kansas City. I'm familiar with the area somewhat since my wife is originally from there but have not done proper research YET on real estate investing prospects. I live in Seattle and comfortable with investing out of state but have only stuck to the coasts, haven't ventured into the midwest.

I'm most curious about how many months on average it takes to get an offer and close in the starter home category if they are priced right. I'm used to a 3 month flip process total end to end. Is this realistic in this market? I'm also curious about inventory and how many deals investors are able to do month to month if cash is not going to be an issue.

Also wondering what areas people suggest to look at for flips.

Thanks for your input
Mike
