Changing 4 prong dryer to 3 prong???

I moved into an older place that has 3 prong outlet.

I see all kinds of 4 prong to 3 prong adapters at Home Depot. can I just use those instead of busting open The dryer and replacing the cord?

@Steve S.

Changing the cord is very simple and the cords are inexpensive. I think it would be best to change the cord than using an adapter.
