Flip House with Asbetos & Mansonite Siding

Pamela Simpson
Posted

I recently bought my first flip house in Grandview, Texas. The house was built in the 1950s & has asbestos siding. The attached carport was enclosed into an addition & has masonite siding. There is another addition on the back of the [carport] addition & it has masonite siding. Also, since I have to replace all the windows, I am going install smaller windows on the south side (exposed to the hot Texas sun) of the house that has asbestos siding. I feel like I should replace all the siding to give it an uniform look. Do you all agree? What did I get myself into! The town is desirable, with low inventory & the house is right next to brand new houses.

@Pamela Simpson -  In my area the homeowner is allowed to remove asbestos themselves and we can dispose of it by burying it in the backyard. No joke
