Black or Stained Kitchen Cabinets??

Hi guys,

Could you guys tell me if you can tell if these cabinets are painted black or stained a really dark espresso color?

Anyone have any experience with black cabinets? Any issues? The property I have will be a rental, and I plan on using white appliances.
