Tax Liens: In-Person training

Hi there.  I'm new to real estate investing.  I own 2 properties (old-fashioned way) that are tenant occupied but I'd like to learn about tax lien investing.

Do you all think there's any value in investing in the training courses that I see being offered?  There are several that cost thousands of dollars.  I don't mind spending this amount as I look at it as investing in myself BUT are they are presenting info that can't be found for free online?

@Keisha Cooper - welcome to BP.   Check out the county tax assessors site.   For tax sales, you need to learn how to research the properties.   You live in Cobb county so check out this tax sale booklet - http://www.cobbtax.org/_fileUploads/files/2015_DQ_... to learn a little more.  Start researching here - http://www.cobbtax.org/taxes/default.aspx then look at the county GIS site to see what the property looks like.   You don't want to bid on drainage ditches or power line right of ways.    Happy bidding.

Joe
