203K Loan Insight/Advice

Eric Kropp
Posted

Has anyone here gone through the 203K loan/renovation process and if so any insight on what to expect or look out for?  This would be our first purchase and the goal would be to buy a duplex for us to live in and rent out the other side.  The process taking a while isn't much of a concern as we are fine with where we are currently living.  Any GC recommendations would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks!

I have been a part of many rehab loans including the FHA 203k. I use contractors who have the designation as a Certified 203k Contractor.

Here's a good FAQ on the 203k and it includes recommended steps/processes - 203kContractors.com/faqs. Conveniently, you can find those contractors on that site.

Recommend to reach out to @Bill Rich for the 203k lender part of the equation.
