I am looking for a 203K licensed general contractor in the Dallas, TX area. I am under contract for a fourplex and plan on living in one of the units.

BP community can you recommend a general contractor who has experience working with FHA 203k loan?!

@Nic Starr

I agree with @Robert Williams

I use and recommend contractors with the accreditation as a Certified 203k Contractor.

They have had their 203k experience impartially vetted or have completed a comprehensive education course on the 203k ... not to mention they have sufficient $$$ to afford the startup costs and ongoing expenses for the 203k, because there's not really any money upfront for the contractors (except in certain situations on the Limited 203k).

You don't want to "wing it" with contractors on the 203k, especially in Texas where there is no state licensing requirements for general contractors.

You're only as strong as your weakest link ... select your partners wisely.

Hope this helps!
