Looking to buy my first house in the Austin TX area!

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Austin & I wanted to buy my first house within the next 6 months to 1 year and would really like to house hack but I don't know where in Austin makes sense. I'm still pretty young so I ideally wouldn't want to live in the middle of nowhere but if moving farther away (more than 20min) helps the price, that's fine too.

My first question is house hacking in Austin still feasible? And how are the duplex, triplex, and four-plex markets in Austin? Is there a lot of them around?

I guess need some guidance on the general market of Austin.

Also, I've heard a lot about FHA loans. Is that working in the current Austin market?

I’ll also connect you with @Joel Allen. He's a mortgage loan originator and can break down the FHA loan and how it might work for you.

I wish you all the best as you start your investing journey.
