I reside in Houston but we're thinking about purchasing a 2nd home in the Lakeway area (Zip 78734) as an investment.  We'd probably rent it out through airbnb during vacancy.  Would like to hear others' thoughts about that area.  How difficult would it be to rent out the place considering it is a bit far from downtown Austin?  Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would bet most neighborhoods in Lakeway are in HOAs. As such, I would check to make sure you could use the house as an STR.
