Any Investors in Comal or Hays Counties in Texas?

Hello, hope all is well! I am reaching out to see if there are any active investors in Texas that are in the Kyle, Buda, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, San Marcos, Canyon Lake, or New Braunfels areas? I am new to REI and looking to build a network in the area. I am currently in the process of learning the ins and outs of the business and if anyone is in the market for someone to help with anything from grunt work to finding deals, I'm your guy! I'm not looking to receive a paycheck just looking to exchange my service/ time for your knowledge. If interested let me know! Thanks and I look forward to connecting!

ok awesome, I’d like to get into flips, however I’m open to just about anything profitable at this time. I don’t have my nitch down yet so just looking for any and all advice.

Welcome to BP, @Dusty Lewis ! We used to live in Buda, but are now down closer to San Antonio.

Are you familiar with the Comal Hays REIA headed up by @Mike Walker ? They meet in San Marcos on the last Saturday of the month. We invest in Guadalupe county now, but since there aren't any REIAs near us, we've been going to the CHREIA since it started a few years back (although we haven't attended much lately due to the birth of our third child).

If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you the contact info. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it in the forum or not.

Hello Kinda, I am familiar and wanted to attend this past Saturday just had a few things going where I couldn’t make it. Congrats on the new little addition. We just had a little girl as well so been busy trying to get things settled back down.

I think all of those areas are very good areas to invest! San Antonio, Canyon Lake, New Braunfels and Seguin are the areas I focus on personally.

@Linda Hastings Thank you for the heads up about the CHREIA, first time I've heard of it. I'd like to connect with others as well. I've been marketing in San Marcos but I don't know what property values are. My goal is to find someone more experienced who I can co-wholesale with.

@Reggie Wright Like any place, values in San Marcos are extremely dependent on the neighborhood and there is a considerable price difference between the east and west side of 35. I don't know every micro-market in the area, but I do have a pretty good feel for values in some of the neighborhoods that I've previously focused on. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you might have. I might not know the answer off the top of my head, but I bet that we can find out.

If you are looking to flip, I would first figure out what your exact barriers of entry are. Whether that be funds, access to deals, or other contacts to help you succeed. Once you figure which barriers are stopping from flipping, tackle them!

Figure out a target market that you can become an expert in. From the other comments in this thread, the investors all had a market that they are experts in, San Marcos etc., find yours!

I would then roll up your sleeves and get dirty, best way to gain experience. Many investors get lost in the sidelines just watching the game get played! Don't be one of them!

Wish you all the best Dusty, if you need any guidance, please reach out!

@Alexis Schreier Yes, the Comal Hays REIA is still active. I think they are a little short-handed in getting website updates done, but there is a facebook page, a meetup group and an email list to which they post meeting notices. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post that info here, but if you PM me, I can send it to you.
