An automotive body manufacturing company tied to Tesla Inc.'s California operations has grabbed a large swath of space in Kyle.
Construction is underway on a manufacturing facility there, which is expected to employ 400 people and be operational by December or January, he said. That's right around the time when Tesla's plant is scheduled to come online.

I was hoping these manufacturing companies would set up shop where land/property taxes are cheaper and right now seems SE Austin in the place, but nonetheless overall good news for Austin south corridor.
There is a ton of land on Highway 71 heading towards Bastrop and Highway 183 heading SE towards Lockhart. I expect manufacturing and warehouse-type industries will be looking at these corridors in the coming decade.
