I need to transfer few properties in Wayne County,MI from my friend name to my LLC. Both of us are in Canada in different cities. Is there a way to do it without visiting Michigan since I see on the website there is a notarization requirement.
Sure, just go get the deed notarized at a bank or somewhere that provides notary services.
@Haseeb Awan you can also have a MI Title Company handle it for you. Let me know I can point you in the right direction.
@Scott Matthew C. Please do. What are the costs ?
Is your friend a member in this LLC? There could be tax implications if he is not I.e. Could be viewed as a gift
US Consulates and Embassies abroad provide notary services.
Had a guy finish a boat race in Baja (big $$ sponsors, couldn't bail on them), rush to consulate where he had an appointment, sign loan docs, back on boat, sail back to the US, agent waiting at dock w/ his keys...
@Lance Lvovsky - No he isn't member of the LLC. I paid him to buy the properties & now want to transfer them on my name
