Is anybody here on BP making money on Tax Lien overages or is it just another "rabbit hole"

Is it worth the time and money to pursue?

Any help appreciated

It is a tougher business than you might think. How do you effectively say to someone I know you are due $10,000 and I will only tell you more if you agree to give me $3000.

While that is a fair business arrangement, if may not be perceived by others that way. I live in a liberal area where people would rather see the homeowner get nothing then someone helping them to get a fee they deem "Unreasonable."

That said it can be tough to track down the right people, and the surplus may be due a lien, judgement, or mortgage holder.
