Open door program or not?
Hi! I recently got married and my husband and I are considering buying a house/condo in DC (I really like the SW). Currently we are under the $131,040 limit for the Open house program in DC but that might change once my husband gets a new job (he recently moved here). Should we take advantage of this program now that we are under the limit or should we wait a couple of years to save enough money for a reasonable down payment ? With the program, we dont need to put much for the down payment but will have a higher interest rate on the loan. Can we re-finance that loan later? Thanks!
