Buying apartment for first rental.

Hey Everyone,

Looking to invest in first rental in a few months. Housing market in my area it's pretty expensive so I was thinking about looking for a inexpensive apartment for sale fixing it up a little bit and renting it out.

This is just a beginning idea, main goal is to eventually move to single and multi family units.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
