Bank with Self-Service Proof of Funds

Scott Frame
Posted
My wife and I are pursuing the BRRRR strategy and have sufficient cash in a savings account at our bank for our purchase and rehab. We made a cash offer a little while back on a property and when we requested a Proof of Funds letter from our bank it took them over a day to provide the letter. This is obviously unacceptable when attempting to move quickly with a cash offer on a property, and we would like to find a bank where we can get a Proof of Funds letter within an hour or less. This seems like a pretty simple task and I don't know why it took my bank so long. I'd prefer if I could simply request the POF from a Mobile Banking app, but even if I have to call in, the bank should be able to email this to me in minutes I think. Who has a recommendation for a bank or credit union that can respond quickly (ideally with a Mobile self-service feature) with a Proof of Funds letter? Bonus points if the bank/credit union has a great interest rate on Savings/Money Market accounts.

@Scott Frame I’ve always provided my own proof of funds as last month’s bank statement with the account number and anything personal blacked out. I’ve never been questioned about it when purchasing from a homeowner.
