My goal is to build a portfolio of rentals in the area. I'm also looking to flip especially now that the market is strong for sellers with the low inventory of houses. Looking for feedback and stories on your experiences investing here?
@John Fider , my wife grew up East of Harrisburg and FIL has had a few rentals over the year. I like that area for a number of reasons and try to keep my eye on it.
Camp Hill has a fair amount of MFR inventory, though lower asset class. I like Carlisle a lot. The college provides the market fundamentals to ensure there is going to be demand long term. You also have the War College, state jobs in Harrisburg, and a lot of shipping/warehouse/logistics jobs coming to the area.
@Jaysen Medhurst Thanks for the input. I didnt know about Camp Hill. MFR is certainly the next step for me. Ill consider Carlise in the future, but I figure I should stay local at first (within 15min from my place) till I get more experience. I know I'll have to do a lot of sweat equity on my next few deals.
Are you local? It says CT on your profile?
@John Fider , I live in CT, but my wife grew up in Boiling Springs.
My partner and I are new investors in this area as well. We just purchased a property in Mechanicsburg near Messiah College since we know alumni like to stay in the area post-grad. Since there's a shortage of homes, there's a demand for a variety of attractive rentals. We're looking to invest in the Camp Hill/Enola/Lemoyne area within the year. Let's connect when possible!
We have heard good things about this area. Best of luck in all your endeavors.
