Investment Info:

Single-family residence buy & hold investment in Harrison.

Purchase price: $130,000
Cash invested: $3,000

I bought this house because I dreamed to live on the lake. The view is amazing with 30 feet from the water and a dock. However, I quickly realized it was impractical because it was to far from friends and work. I lived here 3 years total. I found it peaceful and beautiful but, ultimately not worth the extra 15 min drive. I have held on to it because it is too hard to give up on a dream. It would be a great short term rental but the HOA will not allow short term rentals.

This Is a great Idea I would live to have 30 day stays in summer to maximize people using the dock and water, sadly the HOA requires minimum  6 moth lease. They started out by allowing  to Airbnb the house, but I had one guest they did no like the look of, and voted to force me to quit at the next meeting. This forced me to remove all furnishings after I did the work to get it set up for sort term retal, This is why I will not buy more property with HOA
