Minimum Rent to Price Ratio

Cindy Young
Posted

Hi all - will anyone offer a general minimum for rent to price ratio?  I understand there are many other criteria to analyze a property and market, and I will use all available statistics.  However, this ratio is new to me.  Is there a commonly accepted minimum?  What exactly does this ratio tell us - I understand higher is better but if I have a property at .8% what does it mean other than the calculation itself?

I cannot find this information on BP - if anyone is aware of specific articles on this topic which are on the site (I have pro membership), please advise?

Thanks!

Cindy
