Built It, Operated It, Sold It — Ready to Scale With Investors and Mentors

Hey BiggerPockets community,

Over the past couple of years, I’ve been deep in the trenches building experience in multifamily. We bought an apartment complex, operated it, improved it, and sold it on terms. It turned out to be a great success — but it came with its fair share of challenges.

When some of our partners fell short on both funding and operations, I ended up stepping in to handle the majority myself. It was stressful at the time, but looking back, it was the best thing that could’ve happened. I learned every moving piece — deal structure, underwriting, management, financing, and disposition. I came out of it truly understanding how to make a deal work from start to finish.

Now, I’m focused on scaling smarter — not just chasing higher unit counts, but pursuing stronger opportunities that make sense financially and operationally. It’s about efficiency, solid partnerships, and building systems that can handle growth. I’m not perfect, but I’m hungry to keep learning, improving, and building sustainable success.

Right now, my biggest limitation is capital. Since the last property was sold on terms, I don’t have immediate liquidity to move into the next deal. The opportunities are out there — but I can’t scale at the level I want using just my own funds.

That’s why I’m looking for two key relationships:
1️⃣ A capital partner who believes in growth, creative structures, and long-term wealth building.
2️⃣ A mentor who’s already scaled intelligently — someone who’s built systems, teams, and mindset around sustainable growth — and is open to a call or connection.

I’ve done the work, proven the model, and know how to operate successfully. Now I just need the right partner and guidance to take it to the next level.

If that sounds like you — or if you’ve been where I am and are open to connecting — I’d really appreciate a conversation.

Thanks for reading,
Corey
