Local economic data for crunching acquisition feasibility?

Has anyone found an easy way/source to track economic indicators in a specific state and city?

Numbers on jobs, income, employers, growth, cosy of living etc.

We follow economic indicators on a national basis by there area so many sources for that (podcasts, magazines, TV shows, blogs) but some markets are so unique they just don't track to national activity.

E.g. Right now I'm looking for data in markets including with Florida (west and east) and Alabama (Birmingham, Florence, Huntsville).
