Does having no credit work?

Do you need good credit or some credit to succeed in real estate? When I started in RE I had great credit and the path has been fairly easy in terms of using the banks money. I figure someone with high capital doesn't need to focus too much on credit but what about with little capital and no credit? How can you succeed with no credit?
