Big Taiwanese project could be headed to a site north of Austin
Pegatron - a Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer that works with the likes of Dell, Tesla and Apple — is considering sites in Williamson County as it aims to expand its hold on the artificial intelligence supply chain, several sources said.
Taipei Times reported that Pegatron has opted to spend $85M to establish a new U.S. subsidiary to add production capacity for servers and any products that customers request be made domestically to avoid potential tariffs. The subsidiary is expected to become one of its production bases.
