100 acres near Samsung's Taylor factory planned for big development
An Austin developer is planning 100 acres of development adjacent to the new Samsung factory in Taylor.
About 275,000 square feet of industrial space, 86 single-family homes, more than 90,000 square feet of flexible office space and more are on the drawing board.
Forterra Developers LLC has already secured entitlements for 53 acres it's calling Forterra Mixed Use, and it is finalizing entitlements for 47 more acres under the name Forterra Business Park. Both projects are on County Road 403, a few miles from the Samsung plant. They're in Taylor, about 35 miles northeast of Austin with a population of about 18,000.
