Looking for an easier tenant verification site. The one that I have been using is too complex for my applicants. I'm using tenant verification. Com
I pay the fee and send it to the applicants email. They fill out the application and then it gives them too hard of a time to submit and asks a bunch of questions about me as the landlord that they can't answer. So they give up. Ive lost some good potential tenants due to this. There has to be a better way. Please let me know.

We love Transunion Smartmove. Super easy and has three levels of verification to choose from. You can input whether you are paying the fee or if they are to collect the fee from the applicant.

Hey @John Poling I also use the same tenant verification checking service. I have my tenants provide the required info I need on their initial application. I then use that data to fill the verification form out myself. Just make sure you have consent to receive certain sensitive info from your tenant in your area.
Good Luck

I use a simple few step process for applicants and have never gotten any complains, application form and then TransUnion SmartMove screening. Between both takes 10 minutes or less to do combined.
On my end, I verify employment by calling employer, I get 2 most recent paystubs and 2020 year end paystub, I do the math and make sure check # issued by company is increasing over time and make sure the hourly rate times hours works is correct and adds up correctly paycheck to paycheck. It is One of the ways to spot a fake paycheck since there is generally never an error in an authentic paystub but if people are fabricating them there might be a mistake. Call last few landlords etc

I would look at Apartments or Zillow, both of which offer tenant application and credit screening. The tenant pays the service directly. They see the credit report first and share it with you as the landlord. No surprises for anyone.
The nice thing about using one of these two platforms is you can use them to advertise the property too. Zillow even has digital lease signing.
I currently use a service call Cozy, but they are not taking new customers, since they are transitioning to Apartments after CoStar acquired them.
