I just saw a listing where one of the requirements for rental is to be vaccinated for covid. Its a single family home. Personally, I would not do this but wondered if they can even have that as a requirement?

Can or can't is something courts will have fun deciding over the next few years.

Being vaccinated is not a protected class, so it seems it would be legal. As stupid of an idea as I have ever heard though.

No but there are protected classes that cannot get the shots and it violates ADA law in those cases to discriminate.

@Tracie Van I'm pretty sure that they cannot have it as legal requirement. This is would be really interesting though.

Probably depends on the particular state. It sure is a dumb idea......I'd guess the Landlord or PM is one of those 'woke' types....must make them feel virtuous :-)

Someone can refuse to get the shot for medical or religious reasons. I'd rather not deal with the possible legal issues by even asking. In my opinion whether or not they are vaccinated means nothing to me as a landlord.
