4/5 No Bookings? Fix Your Listing Before Blaming The Market
Sorry to be harsh, but someone had to say it.
Most Airbnb listings in Mexico look like they were taken with a potato.
Blurry photos. Awkward angles. Generic copy like “Nice place close to beach.” No emotion. No story. No soul.
And then we wonder why it doesn’t book.
The brutal truth:
In 2025, the game isn’t about having a property.
It’s about selling an experience—visually, emotionally, and strategically.
People don’t buy beds.
They buy sunsets.
They buy vibes.
They buy the feeling of waking up barefoot, opening the window, and seeing nothing but jungle or ocean.
What you need to fix ASAP:
1. PHOTOS THAT SELL-
Use natural light.
-
Shoot at golden hour.
-
Add human elements: a towel rolled on the bed, a glass of wine on the terrace, a hat on the hammock.
-
Invest in a pro—even if it’s just for the first set.
Rule of thumb: Your listing should look like a boutique hotel ad, not your aunt’s spare room.
2. COPY THAT SEDUCESStop saying “1-bedroom condo with kitchen.”
Start saying:
“Feel the breeze as you sip mezcal on your private terrace, just minutes from the turquoise coast.”
Use emotionally charged language. Paint scenes.
Write as if you were describing it to your dream guest over a drink.
Your title is your hook.
Examples:
-
“Jungle Loft with Outdoor Tub 🌿✨”
-
“3 Min Walk to Festival Grounds 🎶”
-
“Pet-Friendly Hideaway w/ Fast Wi-Fi 🐾📶”
Don’t waste your 50 characters on “1BR Apartment Near Park.”
4. THINK LIKE A GUEST-
What makes your property stand out?
-
What memory will they post on Instagram?
-
What will they brag about to friends?
Sell THAT.
Bonus tip:
Check your competition.
Search in your area, sort by “Most wishlisted,” and reverse-engineer what’s working.
The gap between average listings and great ones is HUGE—but 100% fixable.
Don’t sell walls and furniture. Sell the story.
That’s what gets clicks. That’s what gets booked. That’s what gets rebooked.
