Direct mail marketing question

Where can i find a list of contact information for homes id like to use for direct mail marketing? Once i get this list, is it legal for me to just start mailing out letters to them or how should i go about this?

@Alex Mondragon Check our propstream.com, we use them and are very happy. The cost is considerably less than a lot of their competition and the list quality is good.
